About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines and data products using suitable data architectures.
- Deliver high-quality, analytic-ready data solutions and develop data models to support reporting and analysis.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval to ensure efficient performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and scientists to ensure infrastructure supports business requirements.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and testing.
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive data.
- Partner with the Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform team to shape technology strategy.
- Mentor team members and drive initiatives through completion with an end-to-end ownership mindset.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience implementing and operating data capabilities in a cloud environment.
- SME-grade expertise in Databricks.
- Expertise in designing and building real-time data ingestion pipelines in AWS.
- Proficiency in CloudFormation and developing Custom Resources in CFTs.
- Expertise in developing and integrating GitHub Workflows with AWS.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, PySpark, Scala, or similar languages.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS Glue services and the broader AWS data engineering ecosystem.
- Strong experience with SQL and database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Presto).
- Experience with cloud-based data technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS data services including Redshift, Athena, and Lake Formation.
- Experience with Cloudera Data Platform or Tableau labs.
- Functional knowledge or prior experience in the Life Sciences Research and Development domain.
- Experience working in Agile or product-oriented environments.
