Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines for healthcare analytics
• Build and automate ingestion frameworks for structured and semi-structured data
• Develop semantic data layers in GCP and BigQuery
• Implement scalable ELT/ETL workflows using cloud-native architecture
• Automate orchestration, monitoring, and operational processes
• Optimize BigQuery performance, partitioning, and query efficiency
• Implement engineering best practices for testing, observability, and deployment
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering culture

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud data platform development
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery and Cloud Storage
• Proficiency with Cloud Composer or orchestration tooling
• Experience with Dataflow or modern ingestion frameworks
• Advanced SQL and Python development skills
• Experience with ELT/ETL pipeline design and optimization
• Understanding of semantic layer development and dimensional modeling
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within healthcare data ecosystems and regulated environments
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards or payer/provider data models
• Exposure to dbt, Looker, or semantic modeling frameworks
• Consulting or client-facing delivery experience
