Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable data models (star schema, snowflake, etc.) to support BI, ML, and operational needs.
• Build and maintain both batch and streaming ETL pipelines, managing the end-to-end workflow from ingestion to delivery.
• Partner with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to translate ambiguous data needs into reliable, well-structured solutions.
• Own projects end-to-end, including system design, performance monitoring, and continuous improvements in data quality.
• Contribute to data governance strategies, focusing on data quality, stewardship, metadata, and privacy.
• Collaborate with the Knowledge Platform team to integrate data engineering with AI and ML lifecycles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing scalable ETL pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with streaming data or real-time processing technologies like Apache Kafka or Apache Flink.
• Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern data tools such as Databricks and Airflow.
• Strong understanding of data governance practices and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with globally distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within the financial services, payments, or fintech industries.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R for data analysis and automation.
• Relevant certifications in data management or related technologies.
