Senior Data Centre Design Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of data centre critical infrastructure and facilitate design forums with internal engineering resources, client stakeholders, and external consultants.
• Drive process improvements and tool optimisation across the design lifecycle, establishing metrics for cost, quality, and schedule.
• Set and manage capital design budgets and collaborate with finance to secure funding and track performance.
• Coordinate resources across disciplines and manage design changes based on evolving customer or site needs.
• Champion QA and HSE compliance, capturing lessons learned to embed best practices across the mission-critical portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related).
• Proven experience in an engineering consultancy delivering large, complex building services projects, specifically within mission-critical or data centre environments.
• Strong design management capability, including experience with Project Execution Plans, master programs, risk controls, and commercial stewardship.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trust across clients, contractors, and authorities.
• Working knowledge of Australian Codes and Standards (e.g., NCC and AS/NZS).
• Exposure to BIM coordination tools such as Revit and Navisworks is highly desirable.
