Senior Data Center Operations Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and monitoring of servers and networks in data centers and global points of presence
• Execute rack and stack of data center network equipment
• Maintain warehouse inventory and asset management using internal applications
• Handle labeling and troubleshooting for fiber/optics and power supply cabling
• Install racks, servers, and switches, including staging, cabling, and power up
• Manage and resolve data center operations tickets via Jira
• Create and maintain documentation for tasks and standard operating procedures
• Manage receipt, decommissioning, and vendor returns of hardware
• Define, design, and implement network layouts and solutions within data centers

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 5+ years of experience with server, storage, compute, and network hardware
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure
• 5+ years of experience in inventory management, ordering, receiving, and shipping equipment
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs unassisted
• Ability to work at elevated heights up to 50 feet
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong Linux skills (shell manipulation, user permissions, package management, process management)
• Bash or other scripting experience
• Experience being on-call and responding to critical events
• Experience leading Data Center Infrastructure projects
• 4+ years of experience in structured cabling (copper/fiber)
• 4+ years of experience in data center power and cooling concepts
• Oracle experience
