Senior Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Design scalable Azure SQL architectures based on application workload, concurrency, and data volume
• Lead data modeling and schema design, applying normalization, partitioning, and archiving strategies
• Develop and document robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse Analytics
• Manage large-scale data migrations using Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)
• Perform advanced query performance tuning and execution plan analysis to resolve bottlenecks
• Oversee database administration, including backup/restore strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery
• Implement data quality frameworks, including schema enforcement, validation, and error handling
• Design dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas) and data marts for reporting layers
• Optimize cloud costs through right-sized compute tiers and auto-scaling strategies

Requirements

• 10-12+ years of experience with Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
• Expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database Administration (DBA)
• Proficiency in Azure Data Factory and Synapse Analytics
• Strong hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipeline design and data integration
• Deep understanding of data modeling, schema design, and OLTP vs. OLAP architectures
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex database issues, including deadlocks, blocking, and resource pressure
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database deployments and DevOps automation
• B.E. or B.Tech degree in a relevant field

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and columnar storage
• Experience with event-driven pipelines using Event Hub or Service Bus
• Proficiency with Power BI or similar data visualization and reporting tools
