Senior Data Analyst

Responsibilities

• Extract, process, and analyze data to produce rigorous, actionable insights and research that support university objectives.
• Translate user stories into technical requirements and answer complex business questions using university data assets.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to develop complex ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and define data quality standards.
• Create compelling data visualizations and narratives using Tableau or Power BI to drive decision-making.
• Write and interpret technical documentation, including entity-relationship and logical data models.
• Identify and solve complex data issues to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the university's data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
• 5 years of related experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or Statistics.
• Advanced SQL proficiency, including experience with window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning.
• Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, including dimensional, star, and snowflake schemas.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel and familiarity with Agile/SDLC methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with flowchart and diagramming tools like Miro, Visio, or Lucidchart.
• Familiarity with university KPIs and the ability to perform root-cause analyses to drive cross-functional decisions.
