Senior Data Analyst

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate comprehensive data models to support the DEM&S ecosystem, including data structures and governance frameworks.
• Lead the implementation of digital threads to enable seamless data flow across engineering, modeling, and simulation environments.
• Establish and maintain data format and exchange standards using XML, API protocols, and data serialization to ensure interoperability.
• Support agile development methodologies through iterative work with stakeholders to refine data architectures and conduct pilots.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and DND technical teams to identify critical data requirements and resolve integration challenges.
• Provide technical guidance on data modeling tools, quality assurance, and metadata management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (or a related IT/IM diploma with significant professional experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data modeling and implementing data exchange frameworks in large-scale technical environments.
• Proven experience with industry standards such as ISO or OMG.
• Advanced proficiency in data modeling methodologies (e.g., entity-relationship, semantic modeling, or UML).
• Strong technical knowledge of XML, APIs, and JSON.
• Experience with agile and iterative development in regulated or complex environments.
• Canadian citizenship and continuous residency in Canada for at least the past 10 years to obtain Government of Canada security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in defence acquisition, systems engineering, or complex capital programme environments.
