Senior Data & AI Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend systems and robust data architectures
• Define and implement database design strategies and unified data models
• Build and optimize data ingestion and transformation (ETL/ELT) pipelines
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams to prepare and validate structured data for model training and feature engineering
• Integrate ML model outputs into backend systems and data pipelines
• Ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability across multi-database environments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5-7 years of professional experience in data engineering or backend development
• Expertise in data modeling (OLTP vs OLAP) and data lake architecture
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL)
• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis, TimescaleDB)
• Proficiency in REST API design (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
• Experience using Python for data pipelines and automation workflows
• Must currently reside in the UAE

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Hands-on experience with modern data tools like Kafka, Airbyte, Snowflake, or S3/ADLS
• Knowledge of real-time data processing systems and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j)
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and rapid MVP development
