About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide cybersecurity expertise to surface combat system program offices.
- Lead efforts to bring platform IT systems through the full Risk Management Framework (RMF) life cycle to achieve or renew Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Perform Assessment & Authorization (A&A) work, including categorization, security planning, POA&M updates, and security control compliance assessments.
- Coordinate system hardening to ensure compliance with DoW and DISA regulations, including STIGs and SRGs.
- Advise DoW Program Offices on the secure design and implementation of systems, hardware, and architecture.
- Identify security vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations for mission environments.
- Coordinate cyber test events such as Cyber Table Tops, Cooperative Vulnerability Assessments (CVA), and Cooperative Vulnerability Identification (CVI).
- Provide mentorship and training to team members, contractors, and warfare centers.
- Develop Tasked Planning Sheets (TPS) and prioritize program requirements to ensure adequate funding.
Requirements
- 10+ years of direct cybersecurity work experience.
- 7+ years of experience evaluating system cyber compliance against RMF and DoW Cybersecurity policies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity Management or an equivalent technical field.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Deep knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, DoDI 8500.01, and DoDI 8510.01.
- Proficiency with RMF tools such as Tenable and eMASS.
- Experience working within an acquisition program office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management (IAM) II or IAT III certification.
- Familiarity with Navy combat systems enclaves.
- Working knowledge of DON, NAVSEA, and PEO IWS cyber regulations.
