About the role

Responsibilities

  • Guide customers through the entire car buying and selling process, including appraisals, test drives, and financing applications.
  • Delegate and direct store workflow, addressing questions and resolving customer concerns promptly.
  • Train and mentor associates to foster professional development and team success.
  • Execute strategies to achieve sales goals and maintain operational excellence.
  • Provide management coverage by opening and closing the store as needed.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as inventory reconciliation, paperwork audits, and payment management.
  • Conduct vehicle condition assessments to ensure all inventory meets CarMax Quality Standards.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area in compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong decision-making and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting data for accurate record-keeping.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain attention to detail and strong team behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous sales and customer service experience in a retail or similar environment.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
