Senior Credit Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Perform risk assessment and repayment capacity analysis for complex custom lending transactions for ultra-high-net-worth clients.
• Prepare Credit Approval Memos (CAMs) and modifications for diverse products including marketable securities, commercial real estate, and private equity.
• Partner with Credit Officers and Relationship Management to develop and expand custom lending relationships.
• Synthesize complex financial information to assess liquidity, leverage, cash flow, and legal structures such as trusts and family offices.
• Monitor client operating performance and manage an assigned loan portfolio, including renewals, covenant resolutions, and risk-rating updates.
• Provide lending guidance, structural recommendations, and policy expertise during upfront deal discussions.
• Mentor and develop junior Credit Underwriters to ensure consistent underwriting quality.

Requirements

• 10+ years of commercial and/or private wealth management credit experience.
• Strong financial analysis, accounting skills, and experience with complex deal structuring for borrowers with intricate balance sheets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build partnerships with remote risk and client teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal Credit Training.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
