Senior Credit Risk Portfolio Management Lead

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize the bank's overall credit risk exposure by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the creditworthiness of the lending portfolio.
• Lead and develop a team of 15–16 colleagues focused on credit risk and credit strategy.
• Monitor financial performance and risk profiles across individual borrowers, sectors, and geographic regions.
• Identify early warning signs of potential borrower issues and assess the impact of economic and market developments.
• Utilize quantitative models and risk forecasting tools to measure and predict potential credit losses.
• Perform portfolio stress testing exercises to assess the impact of various economic scenarios.
• Define and set portfolio, segment, and customer risk appetite, policies, and limits.
• Advise senior management and key stakeholders on functional impacts and strategic alignment.
• Manage and mitigate risks through assessment in support of the control and governance agenda.

Requirements

• Proven experience in credit risk and portfolio management.
• Extensive experience interrogating large data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Strong leadership experience, including managing teams and multiple senior stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of credit models and FCA regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in managing risk and controls.
• Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable proposals.
