Senior Credit Analyst

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed merchant credit analyses using bureau data, financial statements, and industry research
• Independently underwrite large national and enterprise merchant applications, evaluating cash flow and multi-period trends
• Validate merchant legitimacy through online research, bank references, and fraud detection tools
• Approve, decline, or recommend structured credit terms for high-value applications within delegated authority
• Perform account maintenance including credit updates, ownership changes, and volume shift assessments
• Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly credit and risk reporting and trend analysis
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and fraud prevention

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial credit underwriting and analysis
• Advanced financial statement analysis experience, including liquidity, profitability, and leverage assessment
• Strong independent decision-making and credit analysis skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and various research tools
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to meet SLAs in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business, finance, commerce, or a related field
• Experience in risk management or fraud investigation
• Familiarity with Canadian industries and the payment processing or merchant services sector
• French language skills (written and spoken)
