Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal partner to Sales, Revenue Operations, and Finance on all commercial transactions.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate agreements across software licenses, neocloud arrangements, and hardware appliance transactions.
• Own the inbound NDA workflow and build self-service resources using CLM and AI tools.
• Negotiate and manage reseller, distributor, and channel partner agreements globally.
• Mature the legal operating model by formalizing templates, playbooks, and approval workflows.
• Lead the implementation and rollout of the CLM platform.
• Provide guidance on marketing review, IT/security/privacy, employment matters, and corporate governance.
• Support Product and Engineering on IP considerations, open-source licensing, and AI regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and advise on data privacy (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) and AI governance.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of legal experience
• Prior in-house exposure at a lean startup or scale-up preferred
• JD from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership in good standing
• Experience managing external counsel
• Strong executive presence and systems thinking
• Ability to manage multi-quarter projects like CLM implementation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with international operations and cross-border transactions
• Familiarity with open-source licensing and AI/ML legal considerations
• Prior experience in AI infrastructure, data storage, or enterprise technology
• Experience implementing or optimizing CLM platforms
