Senior Counsel, Public Sector

Responsibilities

• Support the OpenAI for Government business line, including compliance and contracting issues
• Manage matters related to facilities clearance, security compliance, transactions, and contract management
• Handle bid protests, contract performance, claims, and disputes
• Ensure FAR compliance and manage ethics and compliance tailored to federal contracting
• Oversee data privacy and security compliance (NIST 800-171, CMMC, FISMA)
• Manage lobbying restrictions, False Claims Act risk, and supply chain flow-down requirements
• Scale legal support through the innovative application of AI tools and automation

Requirements

• 10+ years of legal experience
• In-house experience at a technology company with significant government business
• Experience negotiating complex technology transactions with federal, state, local, and international government customers
• Broad knowledge of government procurement regimes, including FAR
• Experience advising on government contracting compliance issues
• Experience scaling legal support through automation and AI tools
