Senior Counsel, Litigation

Responsibilities

• Lead Suno's litigation function, managing high-profile copyright and IP matters in U.S. federal court and Europe.
• Manage outside counsel relationships, including staffing, budgets, and work product to align with business strategy.
• Partner with business affairs and product legal teams to align litigation strategy with product roadmaps and commercial deals.
• Build internal litigation infrastructure, including case management workflows, legal hold processes, and discovery protocols.
• Execute strategic legal initiatives at the request of the General Counsel to shape the company's legal foundation.

Requirements

• JD and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
• Minimum 7 years of litigation experience at a top law firm and/or in-house.
• Proven experience in complex commercial, IP, or copyright matters.
• Demonstrated experience working in or with the music industry.
• Substantive copyright knowledge, including infringement frameworks, fair use, and DMCA.
• Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to provide strategic recommendations to non-lawyers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing or participating in both U.S. and European litigation.
• Prior in-house experience at an AI/ML company, content platform, or music company.
• Familiarity with class action and mass arbitration dynamics.
• Experience with privacy, employment, or trust-and-safety disputes.
• Experience supporting a pre-IPO company or the IPO process.
