Responsibilities
- Handle federal and state employment compliance, hiring, onboarding, and employment agreements
- Manage employee confidentiality, IP agreements, restrictive covenants, and workplace investigations
- Design and adopt equity incentive plans including stock options, RSUs, and restricted stock
- Draft ISO and NSO grant agreements, board consents, and executive/founder employment agreements
- Provide startup counseling on contractor classification, FLSA compliance, and multi-state remote workforce obligations
- Develop institutional infrastructure including templates, precedent libraries, and attorney training
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing
- 5-8 years of experience in employment law
- Deep experience in executive compensation and equity plan design
- Strong communication skills to translate complex legal concepts for non-HR clients
- Enthusiasm for teaching and knowledge-sharing
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant specialty certifications
- Experience from top-tier firms, leading in-house roles, or regulatory agencies
