Senior Counsel - Employment

Responsibilities

• Handle federal and state employment compliance, hiring, onboarding, and employment agreements
• Manage employee confidentiality, IP agreements, restrictive covenants, and workplace investigations
• Design and adopt equity incentive plans including stock options, RSUs, and restricted stock
• Draft ISO and NSO grant agreements, board consents, and executive/founder employment agreements
• Provide startup counseling on contractor classification, FLSA compliance, and multi-state remote workforce obligations
• Develop institutional infrastructure including templates, precedent libraries, and attorney training

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership in good standing
• 5-8 years of experience in employment law
• Deep experience in executive compensation and equity plan design
• Strong communication skills to translate complex legal concepts for non-HR clients
• Enthusiasm for teaching and knowledge-sharing

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant specialty certifications
• Experience from top-tier firms, leading in-house roles, or regulatory agencies
