Senior Counsel, AI and Data

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal counsel and risk assessment regarding AI tools, models, and data-driven initiatives across the enterprise
• Partner with business, product, and technology teams to enable responsible and compliant deployment of AI capabilities
• Advise on AI model development, training data sourcing, licensing, copyright, and ownership of AI-generated outputs
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including SaaS, technology, and data usage contracts
• Identify and mitigate legal risks related to intellectual property, data privacy, and regulatory compliance
• Manage outside counsel relationships and stay updated on evolving laws and industry trends

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• 10-12+ years of relevant legal experience
• Proven experience advising on technology, AI, data, or intellectual property matters
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional legal matters independently
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented guidance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within the technology industry or with AI-driven products and services
• Familiarity with data privacy frameworks such as GDPR and HIPAA
• Strong background in intellectual property, including copyright, licensing, or technology/IP transactions
