Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage cost plans and estimates through design and delivery phases
• Prepare, present, and maintain final cost plans aligned with program phasing
• Review and participate with design teams and general contractors in estimate validation
• Estimate, negotiate, and reconcile change orders throughout the construction lifecycle
• Manage post-contract cost variances, change control processes, and contingency allocations
• Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead negotiations on behalf of the client
• Produce monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding data presentations
• Provide commercial input into design optioneering and value engineering exercises
• Act as the primary interface for cost matters with clients and project managers
• Identify, coach, and mentor team members to support professional development

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related discipline
• 5–7 years of experience in cost management or quantity surveying within construction
• Proven experience leading cost management on medium to large construction projects
• Strong knowledge of procurement routes, cost controls, and change management
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently within complex project teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction consultancy experience
• RICS accreditation or progress toward certification
