About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost management and change management activities throughout the full construction lifecycle for high-complexity data center projects
  • Estimate, evaluate, and negotiate change orders, ensuring accurate assessment of cost, schedule, and risk impacts
  • Develop and present cost plans, estimates, and budgets at key design and construction milestones
  • Manage change control processes, including change logs, contingency drawdowns, and commitment tracking
  • Reconcile changes and validate contractor and subcontractor submissions for accuracy and contractual compliance
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, funding forecasts, and written commercial reviews for client stakeholders
  • Coordinate cost information from consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers
  • Provide commercial input into design optioneering and value management exercises
  • Lead negotiations on behalf of the client to achieve commercially sound outcomes
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster professional growth

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5–7+ years of experience in cost or commercial management within the construction industry
  • Proven experience leading cost management on technically complex projects, such as data centers or mission-critical facilities
  • Strong understanding of procurement strategies, contract administration, and value engineering
  • Experience managing formal change control processes and advising on commercial risk
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction consultancy background
  • RICS accreditation or progress toward chartership
