About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead cost management and change management activities throughout the full construction lifecycle for high-complexity data center projects
- Estimate, evaluate, and negotiate change orders, ensuring accurate assessment of cost, schedule, and risk impacts
- Develop and present cost plans, estimates, and budgets at key design and construction milestones
- Manage change control processes, including change logs, contingency drawdowns, and commitment tracking
- Reconcile changes and validate contractor and subcontractor submissions for accuracy and contractual compliance
- Prepare monthly cost reports, funding forecasts, and written commercial reviews for client stakeholders
- Coordinate cost information from consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers
- Provide commercial input into design optioneering and value management exercises
- Lead negotiations on behalf of the client to achieve commercially sound outcomes
- Mentor and coach team members to foster professional growth
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5–7+ years of experience in cost or commercial management within the construction industry
- Proven experience leading cost management on technically complex projects, such as data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Strong understanding of procurement strategies, contract administration, and value engineering
- Experience managing formal change control processes and advising on commercial risk
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction consultancy background
- RICS accreditation or progress toward chartership
