About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates through design and delivery phases.
  • Produce and present monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding data to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cost information from design teams, GCs, and vendors for robust validation and auditing.
  • Lead procurement strategy development, contractor pricing reviews, and commercial negotiations.
  • Manage change control processes, including reviewing, estimating, and negotiating change orders.
  • Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, and contingency management.
  • Integrate cost data with schedule and scope, coordinating closely with project controls teams.
  • Drive value engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies.
  • Act as the primary client interface to ensure service excellence and project objectives are met.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members to foster a high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in cost management or project controls.
  • Proven experience in mission-critical environments such as data centers, high-tech, or industrial sectors.
  • Solid understanding of MEP systems and campus-scale infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard cost management tools and software.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a regular onsite presence in the Houston, Texas area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction consultancy.
  • RICS accreditation or active progress toward certification.
  • Expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) and complex financial reporting.
