About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates through design and delivery phases.
- Produce and present monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding data to stakeholders.
- Coordinate cost information from design teams, GCs, and vendors for robust validation and auditing.
- Lead procurement strategy development, contractor pricing reviews, and commercial negotiations.
- Manage change control processes, including reviewing, estimating, and negotiating change orders.
- Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, and contingency management.
- Integrate cost data with schedule and scope, coordinating closely with project controls teams.
- Drive value engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies.
- Act as the primary client interface to ensure service excellence and project objectives are met.
- Mentor and coach junior team members to foster a high-performance culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7+ years of experience in cost management or project controls.
- Proven experience in mission-critical environments such as data centers, high-tech, or industrial sectors.
- Solid understanding of MEP systems and campus-scale infrastructure.
- Proficiency with industry-standard cost management tools and software.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to maintain a regular onsite presence in the Houston, Texas area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction consultancy.
- RICS accreditation or active progress toward certification.
- Expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) and complex financial reporting.
