About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating and cost planning efforts, including developing and presenting project cost plans throughout the lifecycle of commercial construction projects.
  • Act as the primary daily client interface, coordinating with owners, designers, and contractors to deliver accurate cost reporting and executive summaries.
  • Manage cost control processes such as valuations, change orders, contingency tracking, and cost variance analysis.
  • Provide commercial input into procurement strategies, value engineering, and design optioneering.
  • Support procurement activities, including the preparation and evaluation of bid packages and contractor negotiations.
  • Produce monthly cost reports, funding updates, and benchmarking data while ensuring timely closeout of final accounts.
  • Mentor junior team members and manage financial aspects of commissions, including margin tracking and fee forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in cost management, quantity surveying, or project controls within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience delivering cost management services on medium to large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of estimating, procurement, contract administration, and change management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills for client-facing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction consultancy.
  • RICS accreditation or progress toward certification.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard cost estimating platforms and financial reporting systems.
