About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a client-facing representative from feasibility through procurement to post-contract delivery
- Manage pre and post-contract duties including cost estimates, tendering, and contract administration
- Complete feasibility studies and produce final cost plans
- Manage tendering and procurement activity, including tender analysis and contract documentation
- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting, valuations, and cost risk analysis
- Interface with clients and consultants at all project stages
- Negotiate and approve final accounts and participate in change control processes
- Support the digital transformation of cost management using industry-leading software
- Contribute to the development of junior team members
Requirements
- Proven track record in cost management or quantity surveying across the full project lifecycle
- Good knowledge of construction methods and procurement routes
- Sound knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
- Expertise in measurement and cost planning using NRM
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
- Degree or HNC level qualification
