About the role
Responsibilities
- Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle
- Providing estimate and cost planning, including producing and presenting final cost plans
- Reviewing and participating with design services teams and general contractors in cost estimate development
- Managing cost checks, valuations, and contingency management for large projects
- Performing quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management activities
- Leading negotiations on contractor and subcontractor pricing to drive fair contract prices
- Producing monthly cost reports and ensuring final accounts are negotiated and agreed upon timely
- Identifying, coaching, and mentoring talent within the team
- Utilizing internal software to track margin levels and monthly fee/resource forecasts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in a cost management role within the construction industry
- Experience supporting cost management on medium or large-sized construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including procurement routes and value engineering
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction consultancy is strongly preferred
