About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost control and commercial management for a large-scale, multi-billion-dollar data center campus development
  • Provide cost planning, estimating, and produce final cost plans through various design milestones
  • Review and participate with design services teams and general contractors in the development of cost estimates
  • Manage cost checks, valuations, contingency management, and commitment tracking logs
  • Coordinate all sources of cost information, including subcontractors, architects, and engineers
  • Perform quantity surveying, change management, and post-contract cost variance analysis
  • Lead negotiations on contractor and subcontractor pricing to drive fair contract pricing
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and funding data presentations for client stakeholders
  • Mentor team members and manage the financial performance of commissions, including forecasting and margin tracking

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field
  • 5–7+ years of relevant cost management experience within the construction industry
  • Proven experience leading cost management on large-scale, complex construction projects (e.g., campus-style developments)
  • Strong knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with site development, infrastructure, and utilities packages is highly advantageous
  • RICS accreditation (or working toward it) is preferred
