Senior Cost Estimator

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates by analyzing record drawings, specifications, and existing conditions
• Integrate schedule, risk, complexity, and cost into preliminary estimates
• Utilize top-down estimating and manage Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
• Review and analyze prior bids to establish projected unit costs
• Track unit production rates and construction costs
• Supervise or mentor junior staff to resolve project controls issues
• Conduct field visits and coordinate with the Advanced Capital Planning Unit
• Research and integrate emerging tools for quantity take-offs and data analysis

Requirements

• Permanent status in the Associate Project Manager title or reachable on specific DDC Promotional/Open Competitive Exams
• Experience supervising employees performing project management work on engineering or architectural projects
• Experience managing construction projects valued at $1,000,000 or more
• Baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field plus required experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Additional years of experience in a supervisory capacity or managing large/complex construction projects as specified in the qualifications
• Authorization to work full-time in the U.S. without sponsorship
