Senior Cost Estimating Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimating efforts for government projects including DoD and NASA
• Develop cost proposal articles such as cost volumes, basis of estimates, and bill of materials
• Analyze RFPs, SOWs, and technical requirements to align estimates with customer needs
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and program management to ensure technical and cost alignment
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and TINA regulations
• Conduct risk analysis, cost realism assessments, and cash flow projections
• Track actual costs against estimates to recommend mitigation strategies
• Support government audit reviews from agencies such as DCMA and DCAA

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
• Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and TINA
• 5+ years of experience leading major cost estimating efforts for government customers
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and communication skills to articulate pricing strategies to leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an engineering or business domain
• 8+ years of experience in government cost estimating
• Experience with ProPricer or other relevant pricing software
• Experience generating work breakdown structures and integrated master schedules
• High-level understanding of the design, development, or operations of space vehicles
• Experience with DoD or Intelligence Community proposals
