Senior Cost Engineer/Cost Control Lead

Responsibilities

• Review contractor pay applications, invoices, and Schedule of Values for accuracy and contract compliance
• Evaluate change orders and contractor cost proposals for entitlement, pricing, and schedule impact
• Maintain accurate cost reports, including change logs, contingency logs, and exposure registers
• Build and validate Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts and cash flow projections
• Identify cost variances and potential overrun risks, communicating implications to project leadership
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and finance teams to resolve cost discrepancies
• Support project closeout activities, including retention release and final cost reporting
• Mentor junior cost control personnel while maintaining hands-on involvement in detailed cost work

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cost engineering, cost control, or construction cost management
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or Accounting)
• Proven experience in practical construction or EPC cost management on large-scale projects
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for building and maintaining complex cost models
• Experience with ERP or project controls systems such as SAP, Oracle, Power BI, or Primavera P6
• Must have a current US work permit (no sponsorship provided)
• Ability to work on-site in Floydada, Texas

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, or semiconductor projects
• Experience with hyperscale data center construction or MEP-heavy programs
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and risk-adjusted forecasting
• Professional certification such as CCP, PMP, RICS, or AACE
