Senior Cost Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for design and construction projects using industry-standard methodologies.
• Analyze project costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain budget compliance.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies to support strategic infrastructure planning.
• Monitor project expenditures across design and construction phases and prepare detailed financial reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to forecast costs and manage financial resources.
• Review and validate vendor quotes, contracts, and invoices to ensure accuracy and cost optimization.
• Maintain cost models and historical databases to support future estimating and planning.
• Mentor junior cost engineers and support the development of best practices and calculation methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in cost engineering, commercial management, or project cost management.
• Demonstrated experience in design and construction projects for urban infrastructure and facilities development.
• Advanced knowledge of cost management software and tools such as Primavera or SAP.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and spreadsheet modeling skills.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Saudi Arabia or Middle East regional business practices and regulations.
• Professional cost engineering certification or equivalent qualification.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
