Senior Cost Control Consultant

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial aspects of a major data center construction program for a global technology client.
• Lead the review and commercial challenge of general contractor and trade partner pay applications and change requests.
• Own forecast-at-complete and estimate-at-completion reporting, including variance analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain a clear and auditable cost control environment across commitments, changes, accruals, and invoices.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost control systems.
• Monitor cost performance, identify risks, and provide mitigation strategies to project leadership.
• Manage cash flow processes with general contractors and prepare detailed monthly cash flow reports.
• Implement change management protocols and document assessments of changes to project scope, schedule, or budget.
• Collaborate with project managers, finance, and procurement teams to ensure accurate invoicing and budgeting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in cost-focused project controls or cost management.
• 3+ years of experience working on large-scale construction projects.
• Proven experience reviewing and challenging contractor pay applications and change orders on live construction projects.
• Strong understanding of forecast final cost management, variance analysis, and cost-to-complete methodology.
• Advanced knowledge of cost control systems, financial forecasting tools, and Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
• Ability to work onsite in Holly Ridge, LA, Monday through Friday.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience specifically within data center construction or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial judgment with the ability to identify risks early and propose solutions.
• Experience maintaining robust cost controls and reporting governance across complex construction programs.
