About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate program technical and programmatic baselines
- Create innovative cost estimating techniques for development, production, and operating and support (O&S) cost elements
- Develop independent life cycle cost estimates including risk, uncertainty, and sensitivity analysis
- Perform economic analyses such as business case analyses, cost/benefit analyses, and analysis-of-alternatives
- Assess the credibility of government and industry cost estimates, economic analyses, and cost savings initiatives
- Evaluate industry contract cost and schedule performance and conduct variance root cause analysis
- Document, present, and defend analytical results to senior managers and clients
- Mentor, develop, and train less experienced cost analysts within high-performing project teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, or business)
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Documented completion of college-level mathematics coursework through Calculus II
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis, data reconciliation, and financial modeling
- Ability to communicate complex analytical results clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively in environments with evolving requirements and shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Active SECRET Clearance
- Knowledge of cost estimating and economic analysis models, methods, and theories
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition, contracting, and PPBE systems
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Experience with data analysis tools such as RStudio, Python, or Power BI
- Experience with ICEAA or DAWIA certification
