Senior Cost Analyst

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate program technical and programmatic baselines
• Create innovative cost estimating techniques for development, production, and operating and support (O&S) cost elements
• Develop independent life cycle cost estimates including risk, uncertainty, and sensitivity analysis
• Perform economic analyses such as business case analyses, cost/benefit analyses, and analysis-of-alternatives
• Assess the credibility of government and industry cost estimates, economic analyses, and cost savings initiatives
• Evaluate industry contract cost and schedule performance and conduct variance root cause analysis
• Document, present, and defend analytical results to senior managers and clients
• Mentor, develop, and train less experienced cost analysts within high-performing project teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, or business)
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
• Documented completion of college-level mathematics coursework through Calculus II
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis, data reconciliation, and financial modeling
• Ability to communicate complex analytical results clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work effectively in environments with evolving requirements and shifting priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Active SECRET Clearance
• Knowledge of cost estimating and economic analysis models, methods, and theories
• Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition, contracting, and PPBE systems
• Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Experience with data analysis tools such as RStudio, Python, or Power BI
• Experience with ICEAA or DAWIA certification
