Responsibilities

• Design and architect PLC/HMI-based control systems for automated manufacturing lines
• Develop and program PLC logic, HMI screens, and SCADA systems
• Specify and select instrumentation, sensors, actuators, and motion control systems
• Integrate robotic systems into manufacturing cells with appropriate safety protocols
• Commission and validate production equipment on the factory floor
• Implement industrial communication networks like EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT
• Design safety systems in compliance with machine safety standards
• Collaborate with MES/IT teams on data acquisition and production traceability
• Mentor junior controls engineers and technicians

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or Mechatronics
• 7+ years of experience in industrial controls engineering or robotics integration
• Expert-level PLC programming (Structured Text, Ladder Logic, Function Block)
• Experience with HMI/SCADA development
• Hands-on experience commissioning automated production equipment
• Solid understanding of servo/motion control and industrial robotics
• Must be based in the United States
• Must be willing to work on-site in Austin, Texas
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in nuclear, aerospace, or defense manufacturing
• Experience integrating controls with MES/ERP platforms
• Background in automated welding systems
• TÜV Functional Safety Engineer (FSEng) or CFSE certification
• Experience with Python, C++, or Rust
• Experience with Kuka, Fanuc, or ABB robots
