Senior Controls Engineer (R&D)

Responsibilities

• Participate in the creation of new devices and processes from concept to working prototype
• Program and commission control systems including PLC, motion, vision systems, and HMI/PC
• Build, test, and develop prototypes for automation systems and devices
• Collaborate with process engineers and measurement specialists to plan and conduct experiments
• Select automation and electronic components for newly developed solutions
• Prepare technical documentation, instructions, and test reports
• Analyze technical issues and implement improvements and changes
• Participate in safety analyses and compliance assessments

Requirements

• Experience in R&D, laboratory environments, or prototype construction
• Proficiency in PLC programming, preferably using Structured Text (IEC 61131-3)
• Experience with Beckhoff, Siemens, or Omron systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Experience in selecting automation and electronic components
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently to solve problems
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with vision systems and motion drives
• Microcontroller programming skills
• Experience creating PC applications (e.g., Python or C#)
• Knowledge of CODESYS, C/C++, or SCADA/MES
• Experience in machine safety analysis
