About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and integration of complex control and instrumentation systems for drilling platforms
- Develop, maintain, and review PLC-based control software using WAGO and Siemens platforms
- Evaluate, select, and troubleshoot components such as hydraulic pumps, VFDs, sensors, and transducers
- Design and implement interlock, safety, and fault-detection systems for high-power and high-voltage equipment
- Design and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts
- Lead commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in lab and field environments
- Analyze system behavior and diagnose complex faults through software and hardware improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of progressive experience in controls, automation, or instrumentation
- Extensive experience with PLC, DAQ systems, and instrumentation hardware selection
- Experience designing human machine interfaces (HMI)
- Hands-on experience with development, wiring, soldering, and building enclosures
- Experience with electrical test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Experience with system integration across software, electrical, mechanical, and network domains
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related engineering discipline
- LabVIEW certifications (CLA, CLD, CLED)
- Experience working in both laboratory research and industrial/field environments
