About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the design of automation projects, developing specifications for control panels, networks, and software
- Translate process or packaging applications into detailed construction packages including schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules
- Mentor and supervise project team members to enhance collaboration and execution
- Provide lifecycle support including system design, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning
- Perform site surveys and provide hands-on support during installation
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes such as UL508A and NEC
- Travel 20-40% for site visits and commissioning efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or Electrical Engineering Technology)
- 6+ years of experience in control systems, manufacturing, or consulting-design environments
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for control panel design and electrical construction packages
- Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation software including Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, and FactoryTalk View ME/SE
- Experience with electrical engineering construction packages like single line diagrams and panel schedules
- Ability to survey and plan control systems projects independently
