About the Company

Karman Industries is at the forefront of revolutionizing industrial thermal energy. We are developing the revolutionary Heat Processing Unit (HPU) to reinvent thermal handling for giga-scale data centers and AI factories using supercritical CO2 chiller systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to design and develop all aspects of heat pump systems
  • Own critical hardware, software, and components, including manufacturing and assembly of early prototypes
  • Generate complex electrical schematics, cable lists, instrumentation diagrams, and controller logic
  • Analyze and implement compliance and certification requirements for industrial deployment
  • Partner with internal manufacturing and external partners to iterate and ensure efficient system builds
  • Ensure designs meet performance targets, cost objectives, and program schedules
  • Test and validate systems through the development cycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, computer science, chemical engineering, physics, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in developing complex industrial, manufacturing, or embedded control systems
  • Demonstrated capacity to drive control system development across both software and hardware
  • Expertise in control system platforms such as Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, Siemens, ABB, or Mitsubishi
  • Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in a related field
  • Experience with high-speed motor applications and instrumentation
  • Competency with Ignition or similar SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of field buses including ModBus, Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, EtherCAT, or CANBus
  • Familiarity with turbomachinery design, analysis, and testing
  • Proficiency in Python or other programming languages
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing environments and design for manufacturability
