About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement control algorithms for vehicle body systems including HVAC, lighting, doors, and safety systems
  • Create functional requirements for vehicle behavior and define communication interfaces and protocols
  • Develop, test, and validate control algorithms to improve vehicle capabilities
  • Participate in DFMEA, FMEA-MSR, hazard, and risk assessments
  • Create environments to design and test electronic control systems prior to vehicle integration
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting, testing, and validation onsite and in the field
  • Lead the development of advanced vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting guides
  • Architect and maintain control development processes including version control and automated code review
  • Release software through the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in automotive or heavy-duty vehicle design
  • Expertise with open and closed loop control systems for sensors, actuators, and ECUs
  • Proficiency in CAN-Bus, LIN, and Ethernet communication protocols
  • Experience with ladder logic controls (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens PLC), C/C++, or MATLAB Simulink
  • Experience integrating controls with low and high voltage automotive hardware (DCDC converters, motors, Li-ion batteries)
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as FMVSS, NHTSA, DOT, NFPA, SAE, and NEC
  • Experience with BOM, documentation control, and version management
