About the role
Responsibilities
- Create and modify Allen Bradley PLC programs for fiber optic cable production.
- Design and implement new control systems projects and manage automation scope.
- Mentor and train junior controls engineers.
- Interface with external system integrators to deliver integrated process equipment.
- Participate in all project phases including design, fabrication, testing, and installation.
- Implement robust, cost-effective automation and process machine control systems.
- Provide off-hours support on a rotating schedule.
Requirements
- BSEE, BSCS, BSME, or BSMET degree.
- 4+ years of manufacturing experience working with PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley ControlLogix (v20 or higher) programming (ladder logic, structured text, and function block).
- Experience programming or supporting 6-axis robotic systems (FANUC, ABB, or KUKA).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for generating and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems programming and higher-level communication protocols.
- Strong understanding of electrical design, motion control, and electro-mechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of legacy controls equipment, networks, and software.
- Experience with the OSI PI (historian) interface.
- Beckhoff PLC experience.
