Senior Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for control systems within the Powergen Product function and the wider group.
• Lead the specification, development, and continuous improvement of control systems and technologies supporting remote monitoring and diagnostic functions.
• Define best engineering practices for the Controls discipline to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
• Create technical specifications, functional design specifications, and test procedures for control systems.
• Serve as the technical authority for the identification and provision of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
• Ensure control systems are engineered to meet diverse applications while optimizing efficiency, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
• Develop existing systems to achieve manufacturing improvements and meet evolving market needs.

Requirements

• Engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience as a Controls Engineer.
• Specific industry knowledge within the Power Generation sector.
• Deep understanding of generator control systems, HMI, and Codesys application development.
• Proficiency in telemetry systems configuration and management.
• Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA technologies.
• Proven experience in the identification and design of Safety Instrumented Systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with industry-standard control platforms such as DSE, DI.ANE, Deif, Comap, Woodward, or GAC.
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering environments and New Product Development (NPD) processes.
