Senior Consultant – Risk Consulting and Advisory

Responsibilities

• Support the scoping, execution, and delivery of risk consulting, advisory, and internal audit projects
• Assist clients in assessing safety maturity and uplifting health and safety operations
• Conduct WHS framework internal audits and develop WHS policies and procedures
• Work with clients to uplift WHS governance structures
• Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout and after engagements
• Provide technical knowledge, direction, coaching, and training to colleagues on engagements
• Travel for client engagements as required

Requirements

• Experience in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or an operational role with a core WHS focus
• Recent experience in an audit or risk-associated role
• Strong understanding of governance, risk, controls, and risk frameworks
• Ability to assess and report on WHS/HSEC compliance against regulatory standards
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience in high-risk industries (e.g., mining, construction, energy) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational or tertiary qualification in WHS, Psychology, Law, or a related field
• Lead Auditor certification (e.g., ISO 45001)
• Certified OHS Practitioner accreditation (e.g., AIHS)
• Understanding of the Hunter economy and commitment to the local community
