Senior Consultant - Indirect Tax

Responsibilities

• Provide implementation support for GST projects, including impact analysis and managing compliance.
• Execute assigned engagements related to Indirect Taxation, including GST, Customs, and Service Tax.
• Analyze and interpret provisions under the Central Excise Act, Customs Act, and VAT regulations.
• Coordinate with government departments to obtain necessary approvals and registrations.
• Identify new business opportunities within existing client accounts and communicate them to management.
• Manage client relationships and represent the firm during tax assessments, audits, and litigations.
• Develop rapport with client management and provide high-quality work products that exceed expectations.

Requirements

• Certified Chartered Accountant, LLB degree, or a relevant graduate degree with post-qualification experience.
• 2-4 years of post-qualification experience specifically in Indirect Tax.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislations including GST, Customs law, and Foreign Trade Policy.
• Proven experience in performing or reviewing tax compliances and managing audits or litigations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, including the use of formulas and complex computations.
• Experience using technology for tax problem-solving, such as ERP systems or data analytics.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and time management skills.
