Senior Construction Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site EHS observation of construction activities to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
• Act as the owner's representative to engage with general contractors and subcontractors.
• Promote the client's safety culture and proactively identify uncontrolled hazards.
• Train on-site workers and subcontractors on EHS oversight program requirements.
• Maintain essential safety documentation, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), SDSs, and toolbox talk summaries.
• Conduct daily site inspections and issue daily site observation reports.
• Participate in daily pre-shift coordination meetings to review activities and associated hazards.
• Review and comment on General Contractor JHAs and support the implementation of corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
• 15+ years of on-site experience in construction-specific project health and safety.
• Proven experience working on large-scale construction or megaprojects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry and construction standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage field personnel and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• CHST, ASP, or CSP certification.
• OSHA 30-hour construction certification.
• Experience with pharmaceutical or high-tech projects.
• Training in confined space entry and fall protection/prevention.
