About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as an owner's representative at a large data center construction site to oversee EHS programs and environmental compliance
- Monitor and advise on the client's EHS culture and support the implementation of regulatory requirements
- Independently develop, implement, and maintain safety and health programs to reduce risk and exposures
- Supervise personnel engaged in EHS functions and monitor for potential hazards in the work area
- Review and advise on Contractor Environmental Health and Safety Plans (CEHSP) for conformance with owner requirements
- Interface with construction management by providing accurate data on EHS performance, including KPIs and incident management
- Conduct site safety walks and evaluate the effectiveness of contractor hazard assessments (RAMS, JHAs, etc.)
- Investigate accidents, injuries, and workplace hazard complaints
- Spend a minimum of 60% of working hours in the field engaging, coaching, and walking the site
Requirements
- BS/BA degree plus 6+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in construction safety or a related field
- Experience in environmental compliance and industry standards
- Valid Driver's License with ability to pass a motor vehicle records review
- US citizenship is required for this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Data center construction or operation experience
- Experience overseeing a variety of construction trades
- NFPA 70E Certification or OSHA 30 Construction Safety Training
- OSHA Authorized Trainer status
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar professional certifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder management
