About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) across park construction, projects, and operations to ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Develop and implement HS&E policies and procedures across all project work packages and operational environments.
- Provide expert technical guidance to Project Managers, Programme Managers, and contractors regarding design risk management and safety standards.
- Oversee site compliance through regular inspections, audits, and evaluations, ensuring welfare provisions meet current regulations.
- Drive global HS&E strategy and continuous improvement by analyzing incident trends, overseeing investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage key HS&E functions including fire prevention, permitting, emergency response, and regulatory reporting (including RIDDOR).
- Lead and develop internal HS&E teams, fostering engagement and strong business partnerships across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in HS&E, Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK HS&E regulations and experience applying them in construction and operational settings.
- Proven strategic planning and leadership capability with experience influencing business leaders and driving performance.
- Hands-on experience with ISO (or equivalent) safety and risk management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound, timely decisions in fast-paced, complex environments.
- Practical experience in inspections, investigations, risk assessments, and regulatory engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Management, or a related discipline.
