Senior Conservation Data Analyst/Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the development and application of data analysis and visualization methodologies and pipelines
• Manage projects to deliver key outputs including the Conservation Navigator
• Perform advanced statistical and spatial analysis for select projects
• Manage GIS software licensing and coordinate with software vendors
• Maintain data repositories and GIS servers such as Google Earth Engine and ArcGIS Enterprise
• Develop and maintain data storage management systems, analysis pipelines, and visualization platforms
• Evaluate and apply new developments in technology, data analysis, and open-source tools

Requirements

• 6 years of professional experience in data analysis or data engineering (or 3 years with an advanced degree)
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and automation
• Working knowledge of JavaScript for web mapping applications
• Experience automating geospatial analyses using tools like ArcGIS or QGIS
• Working knowledge of cloud-based platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Comfort using AI-assisted workflows and large language models (LLMs)
• Experience with conservation, biodiversity, or ecology projects is an asset
