About the Company

PhysicsX is a deep-tech company with roots in numerical physics and Formula One, dedicated to accelerating hardware innovation at the speed of software. We are building an AI-driven simulation software stack for engineering and manufacturing across advanced industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of physics-informed predictive maintenance systems for high-value industrial equipment
  • Build pipelines that fuse periodic inspection imagery with equipment operating history and physics-based inputs
  • Predict remaining component life to help operators reduce unplanned interventions
  • Translate physical intuition into modeling decisions through collaboration with domain experts and customers
  • Architect and ship reliable, scalable ML pipelines deployable within enterprise cloud environments

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in fine-tuning pretrained vision encoders (ViT, DINOv3, ResNet-family)
  • Strong command of gradient-based interpretability methods like Grad-CAM or integrated gradients
  • Ability to build joint models combining visual features with tabular metadata and time-series data
  • Hands-on experience with probabilistic or Bayesian output modeling and uncertainty quantification
  • Experience managing messy, real-world industrial datasets
  • PhD or equivalent research experience in computer vision or machine learning strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with physics-informed or hybrid ML approaches
  • Domain experience in aerospace, energy, heavy industry, mining, or MRO
