About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth reviews of high-risk customers and transactions to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Analyze transaction monitoring alerts and underlying data to identify potentially suspicious activity.
- Review and disposition potential sanctions matches in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead end-to-end investigations into complex cases, including evidence gathering, analysis, and documentation.
- Prepare and ensure the timely filing of SARs/STRs.
- Act as a subject matter expert on AML/CTF investigations, providing guidance to junior analysts.
- Identify emerging financial crime risks and recommend enhancements to monitoring scenarios and processes.
- Support regulatory inquiries, audits, and internal reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law, or a related field.
- CAMS certification or an equivalent AML certification.
- Several years of experience in a compliance role within financial services, focusing on AML, CTF, or sanctions.
- Hands-on background in investigations, transaction monitoring, and live payment screening.
- In-depth knowledge of BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, FATF recommendations, and international financial crime regulations.
- Proficiency in Salesforce, LexisNexis, and NetReveal.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional problem-solving and professional communication skills.
