Senior Compensation and Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage, validate, and process monthly payroll data including overtime, time-off, and KPIs using HiBob and Excel.
• Audit deliverables and payslips provided by external vendors.
• Research and implement compliant tax-reduction structures for fringe benefits such as housing, company cars, and tuition allowances.
• Maintain localized compensation calculators and ensure data alignment across various contract types.
• Lead the strategic project to transition payroll functions from an external vendor to an in-house model.
• Serve as the local expert on Portuguese labor law, IRS withholdings, and Segurança Social.

Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll and compensation experience specifically within Portugal.
• Deep understanding of the Portuguese labor code, flexible benefits taxation, and statutory exemptions.
• Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with HiBob or a similar HRIS.
• Professional fluency in both English and Portuguese.
• Ability to work on-site in Lisbon, Portugal (this is not a remote or hybrid role).
