Responsibilities

• Review live submissions and system outputs to catch missing context, weak risk summaries, and incomplete exposure analysis.
• Encode underwriting judgment into the product by working with engineering to create workflows, appetite rules, and routing logic.
• Define "market-ready" standards for complete submissions across commercial lines.
• Build appetite and routing logic across carriers, wholesalers, MGAs, and specialty markets.
• Advise cross-functional teams on risk framing, placement, and workflow optimization.
• Write playbooks for recurring risk categories to scale underwriting knowledge.

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial underwriting experience with exposure to specialty or E&S markets.
• Experience at an MGA, MGU, wholesaler, or specialty underwriting platform.
• Breadth across multiple commercial lines (e.g., GL, Workers' Comp, Professional Liability, Cyber, or Property).
• Tech-savvy mindset with the ability to translate underwriting logic for engineering teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard, on-site environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling messy, imperfect submissions and complex risk profiles.
• Ability to think both as an underwriter and a broker to optimize market positioning.
